THE SHADOW IS A PART OF LIFE THAT WE OFTEN IGNORE. WE LOOK FOR
THE LIGHT AND TURN OUR BACKS TO THE SHADOW, EVEN THOUGH IT IS AN INEVITABLE PART OF OUR JOURNEY. IN THIS POST, WE WILL EXPLORE HOW EMBRACING YOUR SHADOW THROUGH DIVINE LOVE CAN HELP YOU FULLY EMBRACE YOURSELF.
SHADOW AND HOW IT RELATES TO THE DIVINE
Shadow is a part of your personality that you choose to ignore. It contains things about yourself that you do not want to admit or confront, and therefore create a shadow self where it can live without judgment from the ego. This shadow typically involves deep emotional pain which has been repressed because facing these old feelings would be too hard for us. Your shadow is often a part of your life because you have not fully embraced the Divine. When we do not create time to listen and heal, our shadow begins to surface in places where we least expect it; such as relationships or work. However, when we embrace the shadow through divine love, we can integrate these parts into ourselves and live wholeheartedly.
EMBRACING OUR SHADOWS IN ORDER TO CREATE WHOLENESS WITHIN OURSELVES
Shadow work can be difficult to do, but if you have a guide that will help simplify the process and give you peace of mind. A guide can be anyone that you trust and is able to help point out shadow elements within yourself. They may encourage shadow work or just assist in the process of healing your emotions so that shadow parts do not surface again One way to start shadow work is through meditation, where you focus on finding how these shadows are formed. Another way to start shadow work is by journaling, where you can release emotions and express how they make you feel using words. This will help you release the emotions behind shadow parts and give them a voice so they are not just an ignored part of yourself anymore. This will help identify your shadow parts so that when it starts to show up again in your life, you know which areas need healing.
WHAT TO DO IF SHADOW ELEMENTS SURFACE AGAIN
When shadow parts begin to show up again in your life, you may feel confused or frustrated because of how hard it can be to embrace the shadow. However, there are a few things that you can do if shadow elements surface again:
Recognize where this shadow part is showing up and why. This is the first step to shadow work because you need to know how it affects your life before you can begin working on this shadow part. Reconnect with whatever spiritual belief system that works for you, whether it be meditation or journaling where you recognize what emotions are behind the shadow elements and give them a voice so they are not just hidden.
Have an honest discussion with yourself about shadow elements, and why it is surfacing again in your life. Doing this will help you become more aware of what triggers shadow parts so that when they show up, you can take a step back and figure out the root cause.
Doing shadow work does not have to be hard or uncomfortable if we do it with care for ourselves. Life is challenging, so don't feel ashamed for feeling weak at times. Strive to embrace every part of yourself without judgment or fear! You are worthy because your story makes you who you are.
Divine love is the key to embracing your shadow. To truly embrace yourself, you must acknowledge all parts of yourself including the shadow self that has been hiding in darkness for so long. You also have to be willing to accept this shadow without judgment and see it as an integral part of who you are rather than something bad or wrong about yourself
When you embrace your shadow, you are able to move forward in life with more confidence and self-esteem because the shadow is no longer acting as a barrier between yourself and who you truly want to be. You can become stronger spiritually by embracing all of yourself even though it may seem scary at first.
LOVING YOURSELF UNCONDITIONALLY
When you love yourself unconditionally, it means that there is no judgment of your shadow self. You accept all parts of who you are and cherish them because they make up the unique individual that you are
You deserve to be happy just as much as anyone else does - never forget this! Everyone deserves happiness in life. Self-love is essential to finding happiness in life. When you can love yourself without judgment, then it will be easier for you to find peace with others and with God.
Knowing that shadow work is a part of spiritual growth makes the process less intimidating. When shadow work becomes part of your spiritual journey, it's no longer something scary or unknown.
PRACTICE SELF-LOVE DAILY
Telling yourself that you love and are grateful for who you are every day will help strengthen the shadow work, so it is important to remind yourself of your self-worth. Also, practicing loving-kindness towards others even when they do not deserve it shows how much inner strength you have! You can practice shadow work daily by telling yourself something kind.
Try shadow work every night before bed to help you sleep better and process your feelings from the day. Write a letter to yourself telling what kind of person you want to be each morning, then read it back at the end of the day for encouragement and add guilt-free chocolate.
The Divine is not perfect. We are imperfect beings, and it’s important to embrace our shadows in order to create wholeness within ourselves. It can be hard at first because some of us don't like what we see when looking into the dark parts of our soul, but once you find peace with your own darkness by loving yourself unconditionally then finding love for others will come naturally. If shadow elements surface again, there's nothing wrong with talking about them or seeking help if needed- remember that God loves all his children no matter how broken they may feel inside.
